Queensland floods: emergency and recovery

The floods in Queensland are devastating for communities, businesses, farmers and livestock. But no matter who you talk to, they always say there's always someone else in a worse position. Over the last week, I've heard this kind of statement many times, "Sure we're flooded in for weeks but you should see my neighbour. The poor guy nearly lost his house," many times. On Sunday I was in Tasmania when I got a call from my boss who asked me if I wanted to go to Queensland to cover the floods.
